Playing Uncle Mom!

Well, it's day two and I'm still alive! And I actually was able to sleep in for a little bit today! Its funny how much respect you gain for someone when you walk in their shoes for a day or two. If any of you think you would love to have children, ask if you can take care of some one's children for a day or two...and see after that if you still want children of your own!
So I've been at my sister's since Monday night because she was going in to have her baby yesterday. So Uncle Brian played Uncle Mom all day yesterday and last night. Let me tell you, I've always had a great deal of respect for my sister as a parent, but after the last day or so...it's quadrupled! My two nephews and niece are amazing kids and we've had a good time, but let me be honest...last night before bed...Uncle Brian had a drink! And alcohol has never tasted so good...and I forgot how much I enjoy silence! It's the little things in life that you forget about until you have or take care of children for a day or two!

But in all seriousness, my sister had her baby this morning around 2 AM, and what a cute little stinker! He's super tiny, and I chuckled a bit when I realized that my dog Puck weighs twice as much as the new baby! :) I'll pick up my nephew from school today and then we'll head to the hospital so we can all see mom and the new baby, I can't wait...and my nephews and niece are pretty excited as well. Jo has asked me ten times already this morning what time we are going to the hospital. He also asked me yesterday, "Uncle Brian, how do babies get out of mommy's belly?" I stuck with my sister's answer and said, "Magic." I asked him how he thought they came out and he replied, "I think they just crawl out." I guess he's kind of right! HA!

Kids really say the funniest things, I've been laughing at these goofballs the entire time I've been here! Yesterday, after I picked up my nephew from school, I was getting them all in the car and asked, "Do you want chicken fries and sweet potato fries for dinner?" He shook his head yes and said, "Or.....I hear they opened up a new Wendy's in town...and that's your favorite, right?" I just looked at him and tried not to laugh. That kid really knows how to work the system. Well, we didn't go to Wendy's, even though it IS my favorite!

Well, breakfast is over now here at the funny farm and Dinosaur Train is on PBS right now. I was super pumped yesterday when they wanted to watch a movie and I suggested "Winnie the Pooh and the Heffalump," and they said they wanted to watch that! I'm not going to lie...I LOVE that movie, so darn cute! I honestly can't wait to have kids of my own, because that cartoon will be on loop! And I think I'll adopt my sister's rule of "NO Barney in the house!" :)

Well, the REAL Housewife of Snohomish County is pretending to be a housewife of Kitsap County...and it's been fun, but I can't wait to get back to my side of the water! :) Well I'd better go get some dishes done and I think I smell a diaper that needs to be changed, **gulp.**

Oh I almost forgot, on Monday before I left I found a recipe from the Williams Sonoma catalog for "Tomato Jam with Lemons" and I decided to make it for Michael. It was a pretty easy process, and now I have three jars of it in the fridge waiting for me to get home! And I know that Michael is pretty excited for it as well! I'll post the link to the recipe below! Also, I finished and edited the video on How to Butterfly and Cut Apart a Whole Chicken before I came over here. It's on my YouTube channel! Check it out and let me know what you think! And thanks to Jen for giving me the video challenge!

Until next time, check me out on Facebook! Take care!!
