Just one of those days...

Ever had one of those days that no matter how hard you try to get ahead, you feel like you are running about 20 clicks behind the rest of the world? Today is that kind of day for me. I feel like the hours are just flying by, and that I haven't completed many of the tasks that I needed to today. Maybe it's the weather...yea...that sounds good. It's the weather!

I haven't been sleeping well the past week, and I know that this disruption of rest is more than likely the cause of this mental tardiness. (Make sure you read that properly.) My dreams have been filled with frustrations and other things that leave me a bit shaken when I wake up. I wish my brain would just process all of these things and get them neatly filed away!

Over the past few days I've been playing with my new camcorder! I can't even being to tell you how much I LOVE this thing! (Click here to view this product in my Amazon Associates Store) And I've had fun recording a few videos and I've been getting comments on the quality of the videos now! So all in all I think this was a fantastic purchase and I look forward to all the videos to come!

Speaking of videos, last night I recorded my video for Blasted Broccoli. I stumbled upon this amazing recipe after hearing about Anna Rossi from a much loved coworker of mine at The Healing Center. Anna grew up on Bainbridge Island, and that is how my friend knows her. But my friend raved about this recipe from Anna, and I knew that I needed to check it out! Anna and her husband AJ were contestants on Season 3 of Master Chef, so I knew that this was going to be an amazing dish! And let me tell you, after I made this for the first time several weeks ago...Michael has been asking for it NON-STOP! I'm convinced that he would eat Blasted Broccoli every day, and he'd be happy as a clam doing it! I'll post a link to Anna's blog at the end of this post so you can get the recipe. You can also watch my video on how to cook it!

I e-mailed Anna after finding out about this recipe, and she emailed me back a lovely response. She was delighted that I loved her recipe and that I wanted to feature it here on my blog for all of you. I love sharing recipes with you all, and I love sharing them even more when the creator of them is someone who is an all around nice person! So thank you Anna for allowing me to use your recipe!!

After our meal last night, Michael looked at me and said, "I think this is my favorite thing you've ever made for me. If you would have made this for me in the first few weeks that we were dating...we would have been married 3 months sooner!" I could not stop laughing, and I won't lie, I slugged him in the arm! But honestly, he wasn't kidding, he barely let me eat any of it last night claiming he needed to make sure that he had some for his lunch today. I guess this will be something that I will be making weekly! :) Oh, and he sort of liked the Teriyaki Halibut that I made to go with the Blasted Broccoli. But I know that I could have served him cardboard and he would have happily eaten that as long as he had that broccoli!

I realized while watching the video from last night that at one point when I say "Banga Cauda," I channeled a bit of Giada. And by that I mean...she can be speaking normally, then all of a sudden bust out a word with an Italian pronunciation. For instance she might say..."This is my favorite summer beverage to make, but only if I use this **LIMONCELLO** from this tiny town on the eastern shores of Italy." And if you've ever seen her cooking show, you know exactly what I'm talking about. But listen for it, I was a bit embarrassed when I realized I did it! HA :)

Today I've felt a bit discombobulated. (as a side note, I love that word!) I had to run some errands and go to Home Depot again to get more things for this waterer system that I'm setting up for my girls. I'm using a 5 gallon bucket as a water holding tank, and using PVC pipes and the odds and ends that go with that hooking it up to the Avian Aqua Miser chicken nipples. This way they'll have a larger amount of fresh, clean water at their disposal. But being the person that I am, I don't draw out the plans for this "simple project."

That my friends...is how you end up making 9,276,453 trips to Home Depot! If I would have drawn this out and planned the entire thing before hand, I might have only made one...possibly two trips to the place where lesbians roam. Who knows, maybe subconsciously I was craving lesbian interactions so that is why I've gone about this in the manner that I have. But I digress.

Hopefully within the next day or two this set up will be completed and I'll be able to post a picture for you all! If not...well I'll delete this post and deny everything when someone asks me about it. :) So stay tuned for that!!

Well I suppose I should get my butt in gear. Michael will be on his way home soon, and dinner tonight is taco salads with ground chicken! :) Mmmmmm. Until next time, drop by Anna Rossi's blog Brave Apron and check out her recipes, I promise you'll love them! And don't forget to watch my video and let me know what you think! Until next time...Keep Cooking!
