A Historic Day for Our Nation

As I sit here typing this post tears are still streaming down my face. Today means more to me than most people realize.

On May 20, 2011...Michael and I registered as Domestic Partners in the state of Washington. When we did this, I honestly didn't think we'd be allowed to marry in our state. And I sure as hell didn't think that we were going to see the federal government recognize our marriage.

Well I'm happy to report that today I was proved wrong! The Supreme Court of The United States handed down their ruling declaring DOMA (The Defense of Marriage Act) unconstitutional. A short while ago I recorded a message for all my readers.

Thank you to everyone for your support. Each step we make forward is to the benefit of this nation we call home. One day...one day marriage will be recognized for all across the board. Until that day we need to keep fighting. Equality. That's what it's all about.

Until next time...Keep Cooking.
