Bonjour! - France Vacation -- Day 2: We Made It!

Bonjour! Well...we made it to Paris! The plane ride ended up being a little over 9 1/2 hours because we had a good tail wind. But even with that...it was a long, non-stop ride across the globe.

We arrived in Paris at around 8:30 AM, local time. Neither of us got any real sleep on the plane, so we knew that today was going to be a bit of a challenge. But we got off the plane knowing that we needed to try and stay up until at least 6 PM.

After gathering our luggage we made our way to the Metro to head into Paris. We got off the train at the Saint Michele -- Notre Dame stop and made our way to the next train...and I encountered a little bit of problems at the gate. My ticket wasn't working, and I asked the guy if I needed to buy another one. He said that it should work, so I tried it again...and it worked! But as I was trying to get my luggage through the gates closed...so the guy had to come out of his booth and swipe his card to allow me to pass through. That was my first "Hi, Pretty!" moment of the trip. Lord knows there will be so many more! LOL

After that one little snafu, we boarded the next train and headed to our stop. There's something about coming above ground and feeling/smelling the cold, crisp Paris air. Once that moment passed...we realized that it's butt ass cold here right now! We left the cold and snow to come here for the cold. However, that being said...we are so happy to be here!

Today after we got settled into our Parisian flat, we decided to head out and walk around for a bit...to try and wake up to be honest! We made our way down the block to the Tour Eiffel...then made our way towards a restaurant we ate at last time we were here. We ended up finding it, and we decided that it would be great to have what was the last meal of the previous trip, be the first meal of this trip. Le Bosquet is the name, and we again shared the baked Camembert. Then for our lunch, Michael had the bolognese and I had a croque monsieur. Yummy! It definitely hit the spot...but sitting for that long and eating all that food got us in the mood for a nap. But we knew we HAD to fight it!

So we made our way back towards the Tour Eiffel, up through the Champs de Mars and back towards our flat. We stopped at the little market at the end of our block and picked up some eggs, produce and some wine...you know, the essentials! :) And here we are now, showering and getting ready to enjoy some wine then pass the hell out! I don't know that we'll make it to 6 PM...but we are going to try!

Oh I almost forgot, Delta had a great complimentary movie selection so I watched three movies on the flight over. 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street and Frozen. I also watched Wanda Sykes' stand up from a few years ago. I think I enjoyed Wanda and Frozen the best! Both were great in their own right! :) So now here I am with the song "Let it Go!" stuck in my head, and it's taking everything I have not to bust out into song! Lord help me!

Well I suppose I should get ready for bed...haha! :) I know you all are just waking up for the day! I hope you had a wonderful Monday...and that Tuesday is just as great for you! Here are just a few pictures from today!

Waitin' on my luggage. It came through!

Move In Day...apparently this is how they get things up to the 3rd floor without using stairs!

My first glimpse of the Tour Eiffel!

This is the view from the front window of our flat! :)

Here's our building. :) We are on the 4th floor, the two sets of windows on the right! :)

I love the character these old buildings have. The stairs are great!

Until next time! Keep Cookin!

The moving in picture cracks me up...the last time I moved one of my girls... we took the window out to get her couch out and then in the next place we had to take the windows out to get her shelves in!!! We haven't tired using a ladder yet though!
Keep the stories and pictures coming... that's how I am enjoying 'my time in Paris' with you.
