Today is a day that most people would consider a waste of a vacation day in Hawai'i. However, for Michael and I...it was a day well deserved!
This just might be the shortest blog post of this trip! Today we didn't leave the Hilton Hawaiian Village until around 7 PM...and that was to go and grab dinner. We spent the entire day watching movies and just being complete bums. Well that isn't 100% true. A former coworker from HGVC stopped by to see us since he's in town. It's always nice to see people that I worked with.
Over the course of our trips here to Honolulu, Michael has always said the same thing to me..."I don't know why people on this damn island love you so much!" Now to some, that might sound mean. But it's honestly true! I don't know either. I don't think I'm necessarily the greatest coworker in the world. I am pretty blunt, and I make my feelings known...especially when its about doing something that I know is NOT in my job description.
But I think the thing about me is that I know who the genuine people are that surround me. I'm very fair when it comes to doing things, and I expect to be treated with respect in order for me to give it. But I also know how and when to let loose and have fun. It's the same with the gentleman who stopped by today. I remember when he used to fly in from Orlando for business here on Oahu. I'd give him 90 kinds of hell...and he'd give it right back. Its the relationship that I built with him during my time here that has kept us in touch all these years later. And he stopped by because he didn't honestly believe that I found someone on this earth that would put up with me. I don't know if he really believes Michael is my husband...or just someone I paid to play a part. :) But we'll just keep him guessing.
Other than that...today was a very relaxing day. It was cloudy and crummy again outside, so it didn't feel wrong to watch movies and nap. I realized that I didn't take any pictures today! There hasn't been a sunset the last few days since it's been cloudy out. Hopefully the next few nights will be clear and back to beautiful!
Well I suppose, I should really get some more beauty rest! I think we may try to head to Makapu'u tomorrow to see if we can see whales spouting and breaching from the look out. Who knows what is really in store! :)
Until next time...Keep Cooking!
