No desire...

I'm not sure what's going on...but I'm in a bit of a funk. I know it's bad because I have no desire to pick up my favorite chef's knife, open my Anne Burrell cookbook, wipe down Wanda, open the pantry to see what I could possibly throw together for dinner...and better yet, I really have no desire to even eat.

I've been in a bit of a funk the past week or so and it just seems to be something I can't shake. I haven't been sleeping much, no desire to eat and almost feel like I've been just trying to get the day over with so I can crawl back into bed and ATTEMPT to sleep.

Now all that being said, today I worked for a few hours and then caught the 12:40 ferry over to see Alyssa and (prematurely) to borrow her carpet cleaner. I've been keeping my days pretty full, and it seems like there's always more work to do at my volunteer job than I have time for. Last night I worked with my second children's group, all I can say is that I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work with and be involved in these kids' lives!

Oh, also on that note, The Healing Center is an AMAZING place, and they are having their fall fundraising event called "NovemberFest" and I encourage EVERYONE to go to their website  www.healingcenterseattle.org and check it out! The Healing Center is the only facility of it's kind in King County that provides **ONGOING** grief support for adults, children and families who have lost a loved one. There are families that have been a part of the healing center for years, and it's amazing to talk to them and hear their stories. I'm not someone who likes to go out and ask for donations, or fundraising, but I firmly stand behind what The Healing Center offers and would love for anyone who reads this to take the time to visit their website and possibly consider giving a donation to them.

Anyways, on that note, I'm about to pile my lazy @$$ on the couch and watch some TV. One day, this housewife shall cook again. Hopefully soon, otherwise my husband is going to find a housewife who will cook!

  1. Sorry about the funk. Please plan a night when you cook things with liquor and then invite me over to teach me how to cook.

  2. It's the weather. Thursday was the first day of the "real" gray skies and misting rain that sticks around for 10 months.
