Comfort food and planning for Camp Erin

I know that I'm always cooking up what some might consider "fancy" meals, even though I find them to be great recipes and not fancy at all, but I'm going to take a moment and be completely honest with you all. Time fades them...but never erases...

Today is the 2nd Wednesday of the month. While some of you may be like, "Yea. And?" Well, for me it means that it is the day I head to The Healing Center for group with Healing Club 1, 2, 3. This is the grief group for 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders that I have the privilege of being the "Group Host" for.

Oh I love a sunny day!

Much to my surprise the sun decided to make an appearance today, and it's amazing how everything from the chickens to the plants in our garden seem to respond to this amazing gift! I think back to being a kid in Montana and while the winters were freezing cold, the sun was normally out and shining most days. Which is extremely deceptive because even though the sun was out...it was NOT warm!

Okay...so I know that I've always been the kind who loves to splurge on certain things...cookbooks, fresh cut flowers, and well...food! But my dearest husband has decided that it's time we put in place a...I can barely type it...it just hurts me so...a....a...BUDGET! There...I said it, PLEASE don't make me say it again. I beg of you!

Playing Uncle Mom!

Well, it's day two and I'm still alive! And I actually was able to sleep in for a little bit today! Its funny how much respect you gain for someone when you walk in their shoes for a day or two. If any of you think you would love to have children, ask if you can take care of some one's children for a day or two...and see after that if you still want children of your own!

Living Life & Baking Bread

I can't believe how these days are just flying by. It seems like I get up, get some things done and then it's time to go to bed again! But, none the less, life still keeps clicking and so does my to do list! And one of the things that has been on my list was to finish two of the videos I made when we first moved into our house! A year later...not too bad, eh?

Housewife Revamped!

Okay, so the past two days have been rather odd around here...the SUN was out! Well I think it was the sun, it's been so long since we've actually seen the sun around these parts so I can't consider myself a reliable witness. In other news...big changes around this place...do you like them???

Happy Valenti.....ugh...Happy Single's Awareness Day...

Okay, so I realize that I'm married now and that today is the holiday for those in love...but I will be the first to say that I can NOT stand this day. I like to call today a "forced holiday," and one that is meant to either stress you out trying to figure out what to do for your "sweetie"...or even worse, make it glaringly obvious that you are single.

Okay...I admit it, I have a problem...

We all have problems and/or addictions. However it seems like these days that we are taught to hide them because people will judge us. I guess that is one of the things about having a blog like this is that you are suppose to be sharing things about yourself to make others go, "Hey...I'm glad to see I'm not the only one!" So here it goes...."Hi...My name is Brian and I have a problem...and its..."

Yesterday I left the house as a partner in a corporation...

And I returned a lawfully wedded man! :) It's finally happened! As my friend toasted to Michael at dinner last night, "To Michael...for making an honest man out of Brian...didn't think it'd ever happen!" Of course we all laughed heartily after his toast and merrily drank our champagne!

A long time gone...

Well, I honestly can't believe that it's been over five months since my last post! I actually feel a bit embarrassed! I wish I could say that I've been so busy gallivanting across the world, and helping build homes and schools in third world countries...but in all honesty I've been just trying to live life here in Edmonds.

Coming back a blessed and humbled person...

This past weekend I had the experience of a lifetime. I went into the weekend feeling like I wasn't emotionally able to be there, but decided to leave my personal problems and life at the gate. And by doing that, I was able to experience and be a part of the most amazing and awe inspiring weekend of my life.
